| BitLeap | Software Developer/Network Engineer | 1/2006 - Current |
| Created components of Linux based backup solution by using languages such as C++, PHP, and TSQL. Also supported infrastructure behind the solution as well, which consists of Apache, MySQL, Postgresql, Nagios, Cacti, OpenLDAP, Samba, and Gentoo Linux. I supported clients with backup restores, setups, and general questions. This support utilized my knowledge of our product, which I helped to develop, as well as Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policies, File and Share Permissions, and Microsoft SQL. | ||
| Unisys | Application Deployment Lead/Network Engineer (Consultant) | 1/2005 - 12/2006 |
| Deployed and managed applications in a high availability enterprise server farm, the farm obtained its high availability by using products like Windows 2000/2003 Clusters, Application Center (for NLB), Cisco CS (for NLB), and a IBM SAN. An application deployment lead is required to set up meetings with application developer(s) and agency sponsor(s) to go over security and operational concerns with applications, deploy applications, as well as manage and troubleshoot the environment. | ||
| IntelliMark | Web Developer/Network Engineer (Consultant) | 8/2001 - 1/2005 |
| Created internal web application to manage internal scheduling of consultants. This application used the global catalog LDAP interface from Microsoft Active Directory for obtaining employee information. It also tied to the Lotus Notes time and billing system, so that when an employee was scheduled they would know how to bill the customer. I first wrote this application in ASP.NET but later migrated it to PHP. The back end data is stored in Microsoft SQL 2000 and code was managed using Microsoft Visual Source Safe and later on was migrated to CVS. Migrated a client from a Linux Sendmail to a Microsoft Exchange 5.5 environment. This involved the creation of a VBScripts that made changes to all the email addresses in Exchange via the LDAP interface. Created several applications to handle network tasks for a client. Some of these applications allowed a single network administrator to remotely shutdown an entire Windows Domain, scan a Windows Domain for MSSQL Servers that have a blank SA passwords, and execute a program using privileges that were stored in a MSSQL database. These applications were created using Visual Basic .NET, Visual Basic 6, and Visual Basic Script programming languages. Upgraded large state agency from Windows NT 4 domain to Windows 2003. This upgrade included around 20 sites | ||
| Paxton Ministries | Network Consultant (Volunteer) | 8/2003 - Current |
| Migrated the organization's domain from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2003. After the migration I implemented Exchange 2003, Symantec AntiVirus, and Microsoft Software Update Services. I continually provide support to this organization as a volunteer service. | ||
| Snipeweb | Co-owner/Network Administrator/Web Developer | 3/2000 - 6/2002 |
| Co-founded a company that provided web hosting and designing services. During this time I designed and coded web sites. It was also my duty to create and maintain the hosting environment, which included Windows 2000, Redhat Linux, Bind, Apache, Sendmail, iptables, and other products. The design and coding aspect of the business was done mostly with Adobe Photoshop, PHP, Perl, and MySQL. | ||
| Millersville University | Professors' Assistant | 6/1998 - 8/2001 |
| Assisted with summer graduate level workshops on Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Frontpage, and basic Windows skills. The workshops were based on Office 97/2000 and Windows 98/2000. My responsibilities included helping students and leading instruction at times. | ||
Networking and programming are both very important to me; I enjoy finding solutions that include both of these realms. By leveraging both of these skills together I can solve problems fast and more effectively.
