Follow-up on Downgrading to Basic Cable

Television

A while back we switch from extended basic to basic cable. At the time we were not sure if we would be able to rough it out with the limited number of channels.

Well, it has been about five months and we are surviving just fine. Having MythTV to record programs has helped along with getting DVDs from NetFlix (a nice benefit from work). We have also been busy doing other things that have replaced some of the time we used to spend watching TV. Looking back I am glad that we are on the basic cable plan.

We did that about a year ago and recently dropped to just NetFlix, not even a DVR anymore. Somehow I still find things to waste my time on. :-)

Awesome! You sure have more will power than I. Dropping cable all together seems scary. Yet again, so did downgrading from extended basic to basic cable. :-)

:-) It was more a financial decision than a lifestyle change sorta thing. My wife might talk me into getting something more in the future. She’s the one home most days with our daughter.
