Ever try to submit a bug to Microsoft? It isn’t easy, as I found out when I reported an issue we found that was causing a delay while creating X509Certificate2 objects in the dotnet framework.

I ended up contacted someone I know, who works at Microsoft, for guidance of how to submit a bug report. He said the best way to report an issue with the dotnet framework was via Microsoft Connect. The dotnet framework is one of a number of Microsoft products that you can provide feedback via Microsoft Connect, the complete list is located on the available connections page. If you don’t see the product there your best bet is to call the phone number listed on the report a Microsoft product bug page.

After reporting the bug we found Microsoft responsed within five hours! They said that they had reproduced the bug and would be forwarding it on to the product team. I must say that I am impressed by the response time and the overall bug reporting experience. If only Microsoft could make it easier to find where to submit product bugs.
