Fears of a Deadly Cancer Cluster in Selinsgrove, PA

Posted by – March 4, 2007

An alarming rate of people near an off campus housing complex have developed cancer. The State of Pennsylvania and nearby university (Susquehanna University) claims that the area is safe, even though experts hired by the Patriot News have said the area needs to be investigated more thoroughly.

If you look at the map that the Patriot News created, you will see the “The Warehouse” where four Susquehanna University’s students died, three died in 2002 and one in 1999. That is where Stevie and her friend Julie were planning to live during the 2007-2008 college school year. But after hearing this news they both wisely decided that living at “The Warehouse” was not worth the risk of developing cancer. Losing a $500 security deposit is a small price to pay to not room in an area where there is a abnormally high amount of cancer cases in young adults.

I sincerely hope that the State of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and/or Department of Health will investigate more thoroughly in light of the recent information.
